The founders and owners of this young idea are:

Iván Suárez.
General Manager and Guide of this organization. Was born and raised in Otavalo, an area which he knows and loves very much, He has a scientific formation in Agriculture and has been working as a guide and partner of several organizations in and out of Ecuador since 1998. Ivan speaks Spanish, English and French and loves outdoors activities and nature.
   
Pablo Monge.
President and guide of this company, has been working with the ecotourism project of Chachimbiro for 10 years.  Very well known for his gentle character. Through his work in Chachimbiro he has accumulated many years of ecotourism and adventure experience.

The Cordillera Foundation
a non government and non profit organization (NGO). Its members are working in the Imbabura province, north of Ecuador, in programs of rural self-management, sustainable development, environmental and natural resources conservation. The labour and projects of the Foundation benefits directly to 450 families of indigenous origin, “mestizos” and afro – Ecuadorians; that belong to eight communities associated to the Foundation. Our focus is working with people of these local communities developing and implementing projects related to: Eco- tourism, productive local development, environmental management and community administration, environmental education and training and organizational growth.
In the year 1995 the Foundation Cordillera through free loan subscribed with the Provincial Government of Imbabura, assumes the administration and development of the Project of Ecotourism Chachimbiro I, “thermal baths for the lifewww.chachimbiro.com


We are very proud to have the following people as members of our team, they are not our permanent workers. They are more then that. They are our friends and partners:

Juan Carlos Monge
Guide, graduated in environmental sciences and passionate orchids grower. He knows a lot of our ecology and will transmit you all his passion and knowledge, he speaks Spanish and English. Guides trekking and hiking.

Manuel Guatemal:
An indigenous person from the Kichwua nation, farmer, carpenter and member of the community of San Clemente, pioneer in northern sierra of Ecuador in community based ecotourism, member of the Ecored a network of communities working in tourism. He is an amazing artist and a very creative person.

The Dammer brothers:
three young brothers with lots of experience in mountaineering, the Dammer’s are graduates of the University College of Caribou, B.C. Canada in outdoors and adventure tourism. Very good Spanish and English. The three of them are also engineers in different fields. They are our guides for hiking and mountaineering programs.

Marcelo Arias:
native from Mindo he is a naturalist guide specialized in bird watching with 8 years experience in the field, he is very kind and knowledgable, he knows many places to spot birds and how to find them. He lives permanently in Mindo and has very good recommendations in Lonely planet Ecuador and South American Explorers Club.

The Dent family:
the white water family, our guides for rafting and kayaking, originally from Ireland and England, they have lived in Ecuador for 13 years. They are certified by the AGAR (Asociación de Guías de Aguas Rápidas del Ecuador) and are very professional and fun. Very good English and Spanish.
